How Does A Client Describe The Work?

This is probably the most important part of keeping analog-guy.com fast and accurate.  It is also a place in the business relationship where I may ask to do a time and materials billing procedure if the initial information I get from a client is not sufficient for me to identify the task.  A complete description could include the following information about your circuit design needs:

Previous circuit's output impedance
Power supply
Single ended or bipolar
Shared with noisy digital circuits
SMPS, battery or linear
Following circuit's input characteristics
Impedance
Impedance termination (if not 'ground')
Switching transients (like many A/D converters show)
Bandwidth requirement
Resolution requirements
At what point does noise become a problem
Cost constraints
Component constraints (are there part you do or do not want me to use in a design)
Size constraints

The ability of a client to completely describe the job to be done is pivotal for a fast, efficient completion of their work.  I will help as I can in this definition phase.  There may be cases where several iterations of the job description are required.

For jobs that are not circuit design tasks, a description of the work needed is all I need.  I will ask questions if I need more information.

Let me know what you need!
