Often one needs to evaluate what the competition is doing. In the electronics business the competition is often doing electronics. Many companies have competitive analysis departments. More do not. While these departments have differing resources, it is usually easier to tell how much ROM a microcomputer has than it is to tell how the three transistor synchronization pulse extraction circuit works.
